hi Murray,
ML> Just to confuse the record further, I am using red Warp 3 GA +
ML> FixPak 5. I get "3.00" when I type VER from either an OS/2 or DOS
The numbers CMD returns are hard-coded:
[D:\OS2] cmd /c ver
The Operating System/2 Version is 2.11
[E:\OS2] cmd /c ver
The Operating System/2 Version is 3.00
[F:\OS2] cmd /c ver
The Operating System/2 Version is 4.00
[G:\4OS2] ver
4OS2/32 2.5 OS/2 Version is 2.40
all without rebooting...
ML> Warp 4. If I were writing programs for anything other than my own
ML> amusement on my own system that used OpenDoc, checking for a
ML> version number won't do it. There has to be a better way.
Sure is: Syslevel gives you a fighting change to find out what is installed
and at which level it is.
groetjes,
hugo
