Bill Waslo, of IMP fame, is the designer of LAUD. he now has a web page for
downloading the liberty instruments "LAUD" program demo. It is now up to
version #2. It is slightly different. It now has a 1/6th octave RTA as well.
Other than that, one or two minor bugs have been eliminated. and a slightly
better display mode on impulse info. The output is labeled in mV per div, and
the received is in the proper acoustic format.
The neat thing, is you can make about 5-6 measurements in about 10 minutes
(including set up time). Then, take your raw data home and manipulate at
will. Just take as broad band a set of measurements as possible, and you are
done.
Neat trick.
Acoustically test a room with a speaker as the firing mechanism, and place
the mic at the listening position. Plot and measure your room response on the
RTA, sine, waterfall or impulse. Save all for analyzing later.
This way, you have all the data necessary to "see" any room, in any way that
is currently available.
Mono sum the speakers together, and check for interference patterns. Make
measurements at many different volume levels. This allows you to check for
dynamic anomalies. Summing of different measurements onto a single plot is
possible. You can even target certain areas of the response. Fun toy.
Most importantly, the web address:
http://www.libinst.com
about 735k for the self extracting demo.
