   True. One can't listen to broadcast remote pickup (news cars) either. But 
cellular is the only forbidden band that gets attention, and the only one 
that they physically try to lock out.
 
   Having worked at several radio stations (and visited others) in my 
locality, I know they monitor *each other* all the time. Indeed, I learned 
the frequency of one station's news cars that I didn't know, in the newsroom 
of another.
 
   Strange, huh?
 
   As for the Studio To Transmitter (STL) links around 900 mhz, I can't even 
imagine *why* that would be off-limits. It's almost always the same material 
that's being broadcast....
