Augustin:
AH> I already spoke with Walter and he told me there is no room at
AH>the club for a 41 and even if there was, I'd have to pay $1,200 for a
AH>senior membership. He also said that the only way I could get her in is
o
AH>stay at the visitor's dock as a visitor which will not cost much! Sheesh,
AH>try and figure that one out .
Yeah, well I "had" suggested it would be difficult to get Jingles into a
slip - but Walter's a really good guy and it's obvious that what he's
doing is giving you a way to dock it without having to pay for it - I'd
mentioned it to him as an aside while we were discussing the final setup
points for the NYC newsletter. He's just saying yes, c'mon in and stick
it on the wall and we'll try not to notice.
AH>and they want $8,500!! Does he know of anyone?
I just printed out your entire message (I'm at work) and I'll get in
touch with Ken today.... he's gonna be down at NYC on Thursday night,
too, to have a beer with me and then he's gonna come down to see
SYNAPSE go in the water... he has NO idea what he's in for!!! If
he's standing around - someone's gonna hand him a line and tell him to
hold onto a boat or 30!
AH> As I post this, JINGLES is in the water and ready to set sail for
AH>Toronto. What will happen next, I do not know... should I ship her to the
AH>west coast immediately? Or should I let her sit in TO until June so that
AH>we can have our floatilla? Hmm... tough decision.
I hate you!... not only do you get to sail all through the winter (and
never miss a chance to TELL us about it ), but now you've gone
out and gotten yourself a boat (finally!... now we don't all have to
listen to your incessant ramblings) and have in IN THE WATER - and
mine's still on the hard and four days to go! Arrrgggghhhh!!!
As far as what to do... toughie! Shipping it out immediately might be
the best course of action, and it would get YOUR boat to YOU quicker and
save you time and money having to come back to Toronto so sail your
boat... but I know that Rob & I (and I'm sure several others, too!)
would really miss the chance to have at least ONE pleasant sail with
you! You're quite right - it IS a tough decision.
Talk to you VERY soon just as soon as I get some answers for you.
