G'day Russell, I know Bill can reply to his own messages but I thought I'd throw in my 2 bobs worth as well... RC>> Please could you tell me how you have "clocked" you 66 to 80. I have RC>> yet to see a motherboard with clock over 50mhz. ie 486dx50. Unless RC>> you mean you have set the bus to 40mhz, and the ODP to 80. I must Why in hells name would you need the clock over 50Mhz. You must study up on the workings of a dx2/66. The clock runs at 33Mhz and the CPU is internally clocked at twice the clock speed. ie 66Mhz. Therefore by clocking it at 40 you then achieve the simple act of internally running the CPU at 80. Easy. RC>> missed the part where you told us about the air conditioner you placed RC>> in side the case to keep the CPU cool. Or maybe you have the new water RC>> cooled CPU system? What crap!! The act of placing a 486CPU heatsink/fan is enough to keep the i486dx2/66 (set at 80) cool enough. You must start to face the real world and learn a bit about this subject before dribbling this crap.. RC>> Looking forward to your fireworks, and a sad face when Intel / Amd RC>> refuse to replace the chip. It's his choice. And he will face any consequences, I'm sure, without your unjustified worry. RC>>I know of an instance of Intel refusing RC>>warranty on a 66 because the customer had NOT overclocked it. Russ, Russ, Russ...[shakes head] What is this crap. They refused warranty because he didn't overclock it??? Would they therefore, had given him warranty if he had o'clocked it??? Where is your argument??? NOW.. with all your knowledge... You tell me how in the hell Intel/AMD etc can physically tell that a CPU has in fact been o'clocked short of some unintelligent species [hhhmmm] actually telling them that???
