MV> Wasn't this a netmail?
Net mail doesn't work too good over here. Sorry.
TH> Yea, I know. Bare bones in that respect. I just needed something to
TH> work with. I like to have all the screen lines display source code.
MV> You could always make it an option, you know... To display the menu
MV> by standard or to pop it up after a or F10 or something...
MV> I don't mind a single line being used by a menu-bar....
Nice idea. I'm thinking of pop-up windows whenever the ESC key is
pressed - short cut keys otherwise. That way as much of the screen as
possible is available.
I like to see as much code as possible. I use 50-line mode when
writing source. 25-lines when reading E-mail.
TH> think, put the cursor on the word, and kit a key, and the syntax and
TH> usage is displayed. It needs to be that way.
MV> Yep, is you cut/paste 10 commands every day, you'll be ready within
MV> a month:)
Cut and paste?!
Dammit, Jim, I'm a programmer, not an editor major!
TH> Okay, okay, I'll work on it. I guess you want both quote chars the
TH> same color as the quoted text?
MV> Yeah, that would be nice:)
Done. Works too.
Now, how do I get it to you?
TH> I hate pressing those extra keys.
Now I have to type in a whole extra line to keep it paused!:)
If you want to see any run-time errors, $INCLUDE "ERHANDLR" will
pause so you can see the screen whenever a run-time error occurs.
Press a key and my editor will point to the line that cause it, and
tell you why (in too few a words )
Press ALT-E for a more verbose text. It's the same text that comes
from the reference guide. Someone posted it last summer. Darn nice
thing to do. I'm hoping the syntax and usage text will come along the
same way.
TH> display the contents of that file in a box, so you can see the actual
TH> output. What do you think about that?
MV> Well, I've seen that in BC++, a little window with all the
MV> errors/warnings:) Just one error at a time is fine with me,
MV> otherwise, I get depressed:(
Yea, A86 does that. It can be a real bumer, but usually one syntax
error causes the rest - like dominoes.
Anyway, done. The key is CTL-E. Of course, you have to get my next
revision somehow. Without an Inet account, it will have to wait.
MV> .!. Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die...
It's against the rules.
