By default in Symbios, it is not specified. By default, boot choice for
all devices is set to no. The default result of this is devices are
scanned low to high, and boot comes from the first active primary found.

This is all out the window if he's trying to overcome a boot from CD
problem on eCS 1.0 CD. IIRC, he needs to go to the eCS archives and find
out what the ultimate solution for this was. I think it involves booting
floppies and finishing install from CD. In eCS 1.1 this problem is
supposed to be gone.
