  I don't see any value in a "nya, nya, nya... you can't make us,"
argument with Fido. We've been private once already, and all that
happened was that a LOC net established itself. I'd rather get out
ahead of the rush.

  That's not the harm I was talking about.

  My point is that I can't see how Fido is any advantage to AVT. The
only newbies we get come through personal contacts, so what is Fido
doing for us? The ones who collect AVT expecting a discussion of AVTEK
modems soon leave, and the rest of us are perfectly capable of setting
up our own private points-only net.
