Paul, at 00:46 on Apr 29 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... PE> 4. Looking at the code, it seems a "/" separates a prefix and suffix. BG> How do you mean? You've lost me Paul. PE> I think modemtrans as both a prefix and a suffix, something to add PE> at the beginning, and something to add at the end, not sure though. It's your enhanced code, so you should be sure. And you should at least have a rough idea of how it works too. Not much point attaching it to me at STD rates if I can't fucking use the thing, is it? FYI, the ModemTrans comment permits you to send different strings to the modem, according to the flags which appear in the nodelist. For example, your flags include V32b whilst David's don't, so I have compiled Fastlst to recognise V32b as a specific command qualifier, which adds X1 to the dialling string (and therefore disables BUSY detect on STD calls) of any modem with a V32b flag. PE> Binkley 2.60 should operate the same as BTPE 4.00 in that respect, as Well it doesn't, and it costs me 12c every time it recycles too. PE> I said, but it would be best if you verified that for a fact, rather PE> than relying on what I think. All I know is that it does NOT function as it did with BTPE 3.0 (and Binkley 2.59 as well, of course). Maybe your source code is fucked? PE> 6. Can you read the Binkley 2.60 doco and tell me if you understand it. BG> As I said, I don't have the 2.60 docs. PE> It would be worth FREQing BOS2_260.* and BSRC_260.* from 3:640/305. Dunno, I'd be more inclined to go back to 2.59 with EMSI connects if I can't figure out how to get ModemTrans to work properly. PE> BinkleyTerm now matches modem types exactly rather than using a bitwise PE> AND. This allows lots more modem types, but requires that you change your PE> nodelist generation and config stuff (if you're using ModemTrans). Well that tells me a hell of a lot, I don't think. PE> Callout to nodes with a particular modem type can be disabled using PE> "ModemTrans xxx" (where xxx is the modem type) with no prefix or suffix. PE> This allows sharing BinkleyTerm between lines with particular modem types. Nice to see that the Binkley docs are down to their usual standard...
