>From Creative Labs most likely you were sold a USB modem. It may be
possible to make it work, as OS/2 has had quite a bit of USB driver
updating recently. However, OS/2 regulars know that modems that use a
standard serial interface (usually a 25 pin connector on the modem end;
rarely a 9 pin connector) are pretty much guaranteed to work with no
fuss on your part.

The absolute best buy will come from eBay in the form of a used USR
Courier v.anything external modem. These sell for $300 new, but commonly
under $50 used. Be careful not to pay much for 33K (older) instead of
56K (recent). If you have a poor phone line, 33K is good enough. Best I
get here is 26K, which is entirely a phone company issue, and is a
common problem.
