Hi Debbi,
Sorry to hear  of your loss.
Once upon a time any external modem was virtually guaranteed to work 
with OS/2, but unfortunately that is no longer true. I last purchased a 
V.90 D-Link "DFM-560E+" Data/Fax/Voice external and can highly recommend 
it.  I believe that it is upgradable to V.92 firmware.
