James Collins asked me to post this here.

Hi everyone, (That's both of you over there)
It's been a long time coming, but the first Official release of the
Australian BBS Registry listings since 1999, are now available.
Stephen Gibbs is posting this for me, since my BBS isn't up and
running yet, but it should be in a month or two.
I've spent the last week ringing just about every phone in Australia
(Yes, that was me making that beeping noise on your voice line last
week.
Well it _was_ listed as a BBS once!). The new, totally accurate (I
Hope!) Australian BBS Registry list is out. BBS0409.ZIP - September
2004.
Hopefully Stephen and I and the rest of the Sysops left in Australia,
can work together to raise the profile of BBSing. This list is just
the start of that. Stephen is the West Australian State Coordinator
for the Australian BBS Registry, but I believe he's going to be
maintaining his own lists as well.
When Rodney Creer handed the reins over to me in 1997, I had no idea
what the future held. I can only apologise that I've been gone for so
long. And I can only tell you that Business and Personal disasters
have kept me away, but I'm back again now :)
Those with Web access will be able to get the lists from
www.bbsregistry.com.au like they always used to, and hopefully the
archive will get passed around in the old BBSLIST FDN network, and the
news posted on BBS_NEWS.
Looking forward, I'll be looking for ways to promote BBSing to the
Computing community, and have already put feelers out to old friends
who I hope will be able to help (You know who you are!) :)
James Collins
National Coordinator for The Australian BBS Registry

And hopefully soon 3:640/230
