Everyone,
I downloaded the 2940u2w v310 bios update (from v2.01.0). I applied it
and it was successful.
Upon reboot, the system reported the new bios, and reported all my drives
properly.
However, the system would no longer boot to the HD.
I get the "SYSTEM BOOT DISK FAILED. PLEASE INSERT BOOT DISK" or something
very similar.
I can boot from floppy. And I can access the HD contents (read, copy, run
programs etc.). I can use FDISK /MBR to reset the master boot record. I
can use FDISK to set the active partition.
I've played with my computer bios settings, and my SCSI bios settings as
much as I could, but could not get the system to boot properly from HD.
Once I restored my bios back to the original, it boots fine again.
Has anyone run into this problem and can shed some light on it for me?
I'd appreciate any feedback.
TIA Regards,
-Mark
