At first you should go to
http://www.ecomstation.com
and read carefully what it says.

As you are already on the current WARP4.52 level you can easy upgrade 
from WARP4.

What you get?
1. anything you have already (including any fix you've already 
downloaded from SWC).
2. some more drivers (I don't think you need them yet)
3. currently unlimited rights to download updates (not upgrades!)
    fixes and drivers for free. No need to pay annualy again.
4. some applications, tools and drivers you would have to pay
    separately when you have only SWC (e.g. Ray Gwinn's SIO - a
    replace of com.sys,
    eConNet - a special, registered edition of ISDNPM 3.x, that is
    a modem, ISDN and DSL dialer with embedded NAT, pert filter and
    so on,
    .....
5. some freware tools already installed during base install, e.g.
    eWorkPlace (eCS edition of xWorkPlace), ePager (multiple virtual
    screens), powerfull eCenter (instead of WarpCenter, left as option),
    current EMX runtime installed during base install, ....
6. eComStation Application Pack is a nice option as it saves some
    money when you have a need for the applications included there.
    It is a nice option you may or may not pay.
7. eComStation MultiProcessor Pack will be of interest when you owns
    a mainboard that can run more than one single processor.
8. a tool that makes updating and fixing your eCS more easy
    than anything IBM gives you

The decision to buy now or to wait until eCS 1.2 is ready lefts to you.
