Russell, at 13:08 on Sun, Apr 09 1995, you wrote to Glenn Delahoy ... GD> looking for a cheap 200w power supply with 4 or 5 outputs RB> Why not open your existing PSU and solder in a few more output leads, Why not? Cos unless he holds an EWB ticket, it's illegal, that's why not. Doesn't matter that he's not working on the primary side of the PSU either. Fines were increased massively a few years ago to a maximum of $50k per day, per individual, and $250k per day, per company or corporation, and have already been imposed locally to varying degrees. This basically came about because an unlicensed backyarder in Toowoomba had been buying old washing machines, repairing them, then offering them for resale. Got away with it for almost 5 years too, until one of his customers was electrocuted due to his questionable workmanship. It still amazes me that places like K-Mart, Woolies, and all hardware stores sell electrical fittings to the GP, yet they can only legally be fitted by licensed electricians or EWB ticket holders. A bit like buying non-Austel modems, when you think about it. |-) Regards, Bill @EOT: --- Msgedsq/2 3.05 alpha* Origin: VK4CQ, Logan City, Qld.
