That SHOULD be possible with the right API interface to your firewall. I
see IDS's do it all the time (it= "remotely" tell a firewall to
take some action).

But, as I said before, don't ask any details. I know "what" can
be done with an IDS, but the "how" escapes me. And I am afraid to
ask, due to the enthousiasm of some colleagues who want to spread knowledge
under believers as well as unbelievers.
