Thanks for your remarks, Jay, about telnetable BBS's
the might carry Fidonet echoes (particularly this
Geoworks echo).
I am concerned about losing the local BBS that I use
now due to sysop burnout.

No, not right now. But I will again soon, which is why I asked the
question. There is no indication on the BBS list that is posted
here in this echo about telnetability.
I am wondering if any of the Geoworks BBS's on the list are
reachable that way. (that is by using the internet tool,
"telnet") Maybe that is something that could be added to the list.
Good luck with your efforts to set that up on
