Hello Wayne -

Until the hands touch the keyboard, yes. ;-)

I always seem to find that I 'need' some file(s) that are
sitting on the non-Linux partitions and don't want to reboot to
transfer them to floppies. THEN the fun begins if you don't
un-mount the FAT partition.

WC> Knoppix has telnet and I can already write online.

Standard Linux telnet does not include zmodem up/downloading.

WC> There's a Linux InfoZip? I use Pkzip 2.50 in DOS here.

Yes, you use pkzip in DOS but you won't have access to that
when using KNOPPIX. ;-)

There are many versions of InfoZip available for many OS all of
which are compatible with pkzip's archives.

WC>> I sent the How_To on installing Knoppix to hard drive file

GRUB and LILO are both included on the KNOPPIX CD according to
the KNOPPIX webpage listing of what is on the CD.

Image copies of the partitions would be safer but, yes, I've
done that here for my multiboot to DOS and W2K.

CA>> I also noted this comment: "Please also know that, even

WC> Yeah there's a lot of arrogant attitude out there in Linux
WC> land. Fortunately with Knoppix everyone can fast track
WC> themselves.

KNOPPIX gives a person the opportunity to _see_ what OS they
are trying to learn to use. Being a good looking Desktop is
some encouragement that it will at least look good if nothing
else. ;-)

CA>> Linux binaries are updated but their purpose does not

CA>> used them they don't 'know' Linux. Simple.

CA>> The MP3 is well done and funny in a 'dark humor' sort of

WC> I'm into dark humor. One of my all time favorite movies is
WC> "Dr. Strangelove."

Yes, mine too and I will miss Peter Sellers particularly dry
humor now that he is no longer with us.

WC> Another favorite is "Catch 22", the book not the movie.

Enjoyed the movie, never read the book. :-)

Giancarlo Giannini has made many dark comedies one of the ones
I like is "Seven Beauties" (1976), the other is "Swept Away"
(1975). Marcello Mastroianni did "Dark Eyes" (1987) which is
quite good if you can last to the end of the movie (where it is
headed isn't easy to see).

PBS shows Giannini and Mastroianni movies but not as often as
they once did. Probably best to look in libraries for these
since the 'stars' are 'foreign'. :-)
