A big part of whyt they think that was comes form the Pre WWII
reputation they got for Producing REAL Junk for sale. They are a Very
Prowd People and Vowed the never allow that to happen again. They have
soem of the Tightest if not THE tightest Quality control in the Wrold.
Particualrly for anything Exported. A case i npooint is theri Camera
Business. They had a Special QA system for Exports. This of course
reised the price a bit. Many a Sailor bought NON export models in the
Far East and brought them home only to find that the US Warranty
Stations did NOT cover what was known "Grey Market" goods.
