Hi Raymond,
(Wednesday September 30 1998 05:45) Raymond Beriau to Ted Menks about: Back
in business!
RB>>> I do hope that you have thought of new tricks for 4DOS...
TM>> Unfortunately, I was busy finding out the dangers of IRC, and didn't
TM>> care about doing anything 4Dos-like at all. Shame on me!
RB> Indeed, SHAME on you! How could you be such selfish and not think about
RB> 4DOS things... :(
Hey, I'm sorry, ok? Won't do it again! :-)
TM>> But now I'm back to do some serious damage :-)
RB> I certainly hope so... :)
Right now I'm very much in the process of getting used to Win95 (yeah, the
DOS-ONLY freak sold his soul to the devil, whose name is Bill Gates!), and
trying to make my system more 4Dos-like, while still using the dreaded
Panes.
At least, I've managed to make the thing boot like a normal DOS-machine,
with almost ALL the gadgets I'm used to. When I type WIN at the prompt,
Win95 comes up. And when I shut Win95 down, I'm left at the prompt again.
So far, so good!
And as long as I'm at the clean prompt, everything works the way it always
used to do. But alas: things behave much less than perfect in a 4Dos BOX.
LFN-support is nice, but as soon as programs start looking for the EMM386
driver (usually EMMXXX), they don't find it, since the dreaded Panes rename
it in memory... Well it's not 4Dos-related, so why do I even bother
mentioning it? :-)
