Actually, it's a removable drive and disk cartridge hanging out.  =] 
This icon is used for all removable media (Orb drives, CF cards ...)

I don't think DANIDASD has anything to do with it, since that is for IDE 
drives.  I've never done anything with the OS2DASD (not to imply I don't 
use it; just that I've never changed anything with or about it).
