WL> This sounds GOOD! But what's to prevent Clinton from
WL> simply having one of those convenient memory lapses
RC> Not really. There is a DOJ guideline regarding that sort of
RC> witness. The Court has accepted the argument that, absent
RC> significant medical findings, memory lapse beyond a certain
RC> point constitutes obstruction/perjury. Remember Michael
RC> Deaver?
Yes, I do...now that you've mentioned the name. But I had
completely forgotten about him until now.
WL> well as a big distraction from the main business of
WL> impeaching and trying Gore.
RC> Gore hasn't the political tap-dancing skills of the Dufus.
RC> Witness the "no controlling legal authority" comment.
If a pardon by Gore is Clinton's ace-in-the-hole, he'll do
everything he can to help Gore, even if it means prolonging
his own public disgrace in order to delay legal proceedings.
And, as we have seen repeatedly, Clinton is entirely
capable of pulling more than rabbits out of his hat...or
wherever.
