Hello Grant! Friday March 31 1995 07:18, Grant Beattie wrote to Hamish Moffatt: HM>> But you reported 5.7mb/s with CheckItPro > I think not, Hamish. Engage brain before opening mouth. > 1.7mb??! Anyway, 4mb/s is really no difference; it's still not factual. HM>> then say Coretest which is proven only got 1.65mb/sec? > That's right. CheckItPro reports 4mb/s, Coretest reports 1.65mb/s? I haven't tested my Western Dig with either of those products, so I don't think we have a common product to compare with. Norton 7 reports 1.7mb/s, and I understand Nortons is somewhat conservative. I do have CheckItPro, but I don't think it's worth testing the WD 730 with it, because its results are clearly incorrect. I have the same Conner drive you have, Grant. It scores about 800-900k on Norton 7 SYSINFO. > Hamish, the WD 850 is a piece of shit, and I've just proven it, and you've > just discovered it. That's interesting; I've never mentioned the 850, yet I've just discovered it's shit? Thanks Grant, now I too can base my entire life on false statistics. The new Western Digital drives are noisy, and a little clunky. However, it most certainly is much faster than the ancient, slow Conner 170. I have both, you only have the Conner and some false statistics. You have some strange attitudes towards some suppliers Grant. For example, I know you won't buy any CPU not made by Intel. I have two UMC 486SX-33 boxes that outperform my Intel 486SX-33 box by nearly 30%. Measured with Norton Sysinfo 7. Those two PCs are also much more stable than the Intel box. HM>> Thanks Grant. Dug your own grave once again. > I don't think so, dickhead. I have a nasty suspicion you're not going to win this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.
