I am not 100% sure, but I believe it is the act (or operation) of converting parameters to a called function from one format to another. For example, OS/2 is a 32 bit operating system. When it was first introduced, it was a 16 bit operating system. So software written today in the 32 bit mode must be 'thunked' before calling the old 16 bit routines that were created in the 1st version of OS/2. A Windows NT program does the same thing when it is run under Windows 3.1 with the Win32.dll (the Win32.dll performs the thunking, among other things). --- Blue Wave/Max v2.12 [NR]* Origin: * MacSavvy * Dallas * Home of the POWERPC echo * (1:124/1208) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 54/54 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 413 430 SEEN-BY: 711/807 808 809 934 942 712/353 623 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 124/1208 1111 1 396/1 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 54/54 711/808 809 @PATH: 711/934 |
