you can get a virus from the internet (plenty of people have...)
you can get a virus from a bbs (plenty of people have...)
you can get a virus from floppy disks (plenty of people have...)
you can even get a virus from shrink wrapped commercial software (plenty
of people have...)
if you use a good scanner you should be able to avoid infection by
computer viruses... lack of infection should never be a surprise, it
should be the expected result of deliberate and careful actions...
... i miss the blinking leds on my external modem...
