Could someone perhaps give me some first-hand information on what does and does not work trying to add Udenet newsgroups to a BBS using Fidonet-typ software these days? I can pull groups down with Vsoup and I know there's a way to convert soup to fido PKT and toss it like normal, but then there's an issue with long internet name support, so I don't think it would work in reverse. I've seen lots of current BBSs carrying newsgroups in a way that it looks like the "got" them from a fido feed, so I guess others are doing it in a similar way, but none of them are TG BBSs limited to the Jam or Squish format. I would also really like to try "soup2sq" soup-to-squish converter, as my understanding is that squish is a more flexible format, but I'm running XP, and that's an OS/2 executable that I can't find a way to run in a Win32 environment. (I can find plenty of ways to run Win32 stuff on OS/2 though, go figure). I figured this would be a safe place to ask without getting the response "Oh, just switch to Synchronet"...
