Hello Janis.

I have tried many BBS software packages since I got into BBSing in the late
80's. I have had a few BBS's that I did like. but that never kept me from
looking at an evaluating and testing others.

I started out with WC using a early version of DOS v2.0 on an XT machine. I
myself never got into setting up too many doors. My focus seemed to me to be
more toward messages and files. I got into Windows prior to Windows v3.0 but
opted to move to OS/2 for some years before going back to Windows 95. I stayed
with Windows and still run Windows 10. But there are a number of things that
Linux does better. Only one thing being cost.

In trying differant BBS packages. I have noticed the wide variety of learning
curves involved in the installation and setup. Some don't involve much more
than
clicking on or loading a install/setup program. While others require the SysOp
to actually compile their own software from source code. Then there is the
degree,
quality, and comprehensiveness of the documentation.

 JK> Take care,
