Hello Jasen!
Quoting Jasen's message:

I know that (from reading the help file)...
JB> if you have /P in config.sys the name of the autoexec file must
JB> follow it (otherwise c:\autoecec.bat will be loaded) if you don't
JB> have /p then the settings in 4dos.ini will be used.
I tried the following without success:
SHELL=C:\4DOS\4DOS.COM C:\4DOS @C:\4DOS\4DOS.INI /F /Pc:\4dosexec.btm
SHELL=C:\4DOS\4DOS.COM C:\4DOS /F /Pc:\4dosexec.btm
SHELL=C:\4DOS\4DOS.COM C:\4DOS /Pc:\4dosexec.btm
I went back to my original setting and modified the 4DOS.INI:
SHELL=C:\4DOS\4DOS.COM C:\4DOS @C:\4DOS\4DOS.INI /F
...and in 4DOS.INI
AutoExecPath = C:\4DOSEXEC.BTM
...again without success - 4DOS still call AUTOEXEC.BAT rather than
4DOSEXEC.BTM
Note: I know that AUTOEXEC.BAT is loaded first because the first line of the
file echoes the name of the file that is being called, and the following
lines call 4DOSEXEC.BTM as determined by the choice in CONFIG.SYS
JB> make sure you only have 1 copy of 4dos.ini, or that you are editing
JB> the right one :)
I have multiple copies of the INI file, but only one file that is called
4DOS.INI and I have been editing the right one.
Could the problem be caused by the fact that I have multiple choices in
CONFIG.SYS?
Thanks for your suggestions... Hopefully we will be able to get to the bottom
of this problem...
By the way, the computer is a 486 DX4 100Mhz with 32Meg of RAM using MS-DOS
v7.00 with 4DOS v6.01A
Sincerely, Raymond Beriau.
