I think you're talking about WinXP that presumes it has been
pirated if "too much" changes in the hardware configuration.
Change a MoBo and maybe a video card and it's going to tell
you to call M$ and convince them this is still the one and
only system you were licensed to use.  If successful they'll
give you a new license number.
