Where did you get this information from? I have two Conner drives (120mb
and 170mb) (CP for Grant), a Seagate (120mb) and four Western Digitals
(340mb, 420mb, 540mb and 730mb). The Seagate and Conner 120 are in the same
machine; the Seagate is 4 years old, the Conner is almost two.

The Seagate is considerably faster, and has been much more reliable than
the Conner when mixing old disk caches and Windows 32-bit disk and file
access. (When I was running PC Tools 6 cache with Windows 32bd/fa, the
Conner would get lots of crosslinks etc and the Seagate was perfect. I
can't really explain it, but there you have it.)

I've never had any reliability problems with the Western Digitals, nor the
Seagate. The Conner is also okay, but CPs are considerably slower than WD
(and nobody except Grant Beastie has a CFS or CFA anyway.)

Regards,
Hamish
