  I meant that they would point, too. Or not, as they chose. The only
mail I pick up from Paul is AVT and the two locals, plus occasional
echoes I could get anywhere. My average connnect is about a minute. For
$0.25 I can do that from anywhere in Australia, merely by changing my 
connect time to off-peak. To me, AVT is worth $0.25 a day and even more 
without Rod Speed.

  To make it public we end up relying on someone else to move mail. If
we make it points-only, we rely on our own dollar and to hell with
everyone else... as long as we have one (or more) of us willing to
act as a hub. Once set up that way, it become optional whether we
connect AVT to Fidonet.

  Nothing is going to happen. They'll have to inform Rod as moderator
before they pull the plug, or they'll be disobeying their own rules.
