We have just run into a spot of trouble I hadn't counted on at work and I'm
hoping I can get some ideas from the fine folks here after having spent
several hours with no success to sort a table.
I set up a simple table to keep track of some stats at work and have just
been asked to provide several different reports presenting the data
different ways.  There are 12 columns, three of which are dates of various
activities related to each record.  There are approximately 120 records in
the table.  Three of the requested reports ask that the table be displayed
chronologically based on each of the three date fields.
To be more precise, the table is created via the merge menu by creating a 
ata
file in a table to simplify it for the main user of the form who is limited
in computer skills (she just fills in the info and WP places it for her).
The dates are formatted as dd-mm-yy (hyphens included).  When using the sort
menu, I made sure to sort numerically.  No matter how I try, the dates
always sort based *ONLY* on the first two characters, that is the "dd"
portion.   This of course would be wonderful if all the dates were in the
same month and year but they are scattered over a four year period.
I have tried using "keys" and identifying the "mm" and "yy" portions as
second and third words all to no avail.  I also made sure that the column
indicator reflected the appropriate one.  Other efforts have included using
search and replace to change the hyphens to "/" and also to spaces.  I have
also messed about with the date format selection in table definitions (albeit
AFTER all data was input if that matters).
For the record, the software is WPWIN 6.1 (Novell) running networked with
individual pentium 133 workstations.  
Any and all help would be appreciated.
