-> While I appreciate how you might have come to your interpretation of
-> legal warnings on copyrighted materials, the courts have a very much
-> narrower definition of "any other purposes" than you propose. As an
-> author of copyrighted works myself, such an interpretation might be
-> nice, but it is not supported by case law.
->
Are you saying that the copyright law does not restrict unauthorized
distribution? If that's what you're trying to say then I guess we're not
going to agree. You say that you know this based on works you have
copyrighted, but I've done the same - after contacting the U.S.
Copyright office and reading everything they had to send me.
->
-> I do hope that between John's impassioned testimony, my comments, and
-> Disney Guest Relations statements (which I urge you to call for as
-> John suggested) we may put this thread to rest.
->
It's put to rest whenever people stop discussing it, just like any other
topic.
-> And let me know if you find any legal copies of "The Rescuers" for
-> sale, will you please?
I have a few copies, but, alas, they are owned by the Disney Company,
not myself. I only own the physical videotapes they are on. Drat.
