One night, as I was closing up, a valiant hard top went howlin past.

I left right behind him and to pass him I was doing 90mph

to my suprise he turned off onto my road and passed me just before the

curve going down to the little narrow wooden bridge (that was also on a

curve) .

He would have been just 2 seconds in front of me, and when I got over

the bridge, there was an 11yr old walking dazed down the middle of the

road (not a sign of a car).

I stopped and asked if he needed a ride ( he said no he was walking to a

party, so I left)



I didn't know for sure if I WAS seeing things or not, that night.

First thing I saw was a kid walking down the middle of the road.



Next day on the way to work, I saw the neigbour pulling a car out of the

river, so I stopped,



The Valiant missed the bridge and went up a tree that was hanging out

over the water (I went past last night and didn't see it)

It was 10feet out over the water.

The engine had broken off at the bell housing and was in the back seat



The bugger lives to strike again.



The 11 yr old that I stopped for last night, had stolen the car (from his

father) to go to the party after Dad would not let him go out..



The rumour around the school the next day was that a car (ME) had run

him off the road.



I jogged down to the police station and volunteered my side of the story

and the sarge told me I had nothing to worry about and thanked me for

filling in some gaps.
