1237e195120e tech Hello Wayne - --8<--cut WC>> Now if I swap the el-cheapo NEC A drive for the H.P. drive WC>> now sitting in the 486 I'd make up a couple of those WC>> diskettes. RJT>> Now that you mention it, one of the two I was messing RJT>> with was H-P. Waitaminnit... (Looking) Ok, the one that RJT>> came _out_ of there was NEC, and the one that went _in_ RJT>> was H-P. So yeah, swap those out and you won't have a RJT>> problem, probably. :-) WC> Clarify please. I did some experimenting with extended formats on floppies some years ago. It's really trial and error to find out if your particular drive will allow the extra tracks. Some 'bump' the stop detent and won't do it, others do not. No way of knowing even among a particular manuf if the drive will do it until you try. --8<--cut WC> It's all curbware hardware here now but I think it's WC> amazing what I've got going with it :-) Just the memory WC> upgrade was purchased along with a few other bits and WC> pieces dirt cheap. It is amazing and makes it all even more fun that way IMO. :-) > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
