Jimmy,

were you dealing with a

I bought the drive(s) from a distributor (a quite large distributor, at
that), but dealt directly
with Seagate for the replacements. I called them and got an RMA, sent in
the drives, and waited.
I asked about cross shipment, but they wouldn't do it. They HAD TO get my
drive returned first!
I bought an IBM drive to replace it in my machine. When the replacement
Seagate (refurb) arrived,
I installed it as a second drive, and that one failed in a short time as
well. The refurb
replacement for that one is the one I still have sitting here in the box.
I'm thinking about
making a clock out of it.
The IBM drive I bought (the first of 4) is still going strong several years
later. So are the
other three, altho they were bought later.
Steve
