I have one WD-drive somewhere in the network, from around 1999. Was OK for

Fujitsu had a production-run of drives in 2000 or 2001 which were so faulty
they took them back in masses. After that I wouldn't touch one with a 10
foot pole.

I have several Maxtors since 2000 ... not a single glitch.
