hey folks :)
i was watching tv this weekend and saw a show on the us customs division.
they did a bit on bird smuggling that, of course, made me cry. the mortality
rate of these sweet babies is just heartbreaking. there was one story in
particular that i wanted to share.
apparently, there was a lady named Linda Wurr that was driving an rv from
mexico to canada. she was transporting 125 mexican redheads and amazons.
she was arrested but, upon release on bail, she fled. they believe she has
gone back to canada. she is in her late 30's to early 40's, 5'6-5'8, brown
hair, brown eyes. if you have seen this woman or have any information,
please call us customs.
the current laws do not provide for extensive punishment for these babies
being mistreated and smuggled into our country. still, if we sit back and do
nothing, nothing will change. they say that all smugglers go back to
smuggling so we have to keep trying. i know this net reaches canadian
residents so if you can help, please do.
take care...
