That could be a problem if burning doesn't lock the writer's door. For
mounted stuff, it depends on the contents of /etc/fstab whether somebody
else besides root is allowed to umount something that somebody else has
mounted.

I wasn't really complaining. ;)

Same here. I'm not letting go of my MO drive for that reason (although it's
only useful for backups since nobody else around here has a drive), and if
it ever breaks, I will get a new one. Probably one of those newer 1.3G
3.5" drives - but so far, my old drive works without problems.
