| subject: | Re: result of ping test |
Well, I didn't. The latest is: 1. There were THREE NICs in the box, they disabled the two 10/100's and set the gigabit one to manual, 1000 full duplex. 2. NewlyMintedNetworkGuy said something about the box having been configured as a trunk (well, not "a trunk", but "trunk" was in there somewhere) which didn't make sense to him so now he made it just like my other server. 3. My development partner (who does the front ends) said actually on my other server the users DO sometimes lose the connection. (!) He also said if the ping test shows for example 3 packets received and 1 lost, that is normal. (!!!) However, he said he would be concerned if all the users lost their connections at the same time. So now I have the script running on two different desktops and tomorrow we'll see whether they had problems at the same time. Also instead of searching for "Request timed out" I will search for "Received = 0". 4. NewlyMintedNetworkGuy said the network sniffer is busy sniffing the TJ traffic and we can't use it, but he has some other tool he will set up. 5. The NT admin turned on PerfMon. So tomorrow we should hopefully know more. > From: John Cuccia > On Wed, 02 Jun 2004 10:17:15 -0700, Ellen K. > wrote: >> I will ask. > No need, if you aren't using AD. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
