Even easier: Create a file MSBATCH.INF and put it in the WIN98 directory 
on the CD or HD. The setup program will then read the serial number from 
there. Here is my file MSBATCH.INF:

    ;
    ; Copyright (c) 1995-1998 Microsoft Corporation.
    ; All rights reserved.
    ;

    [BatchSetup]
    Version=3.0 (32-bit)
    SaveDate=05/06/98

    [Version]

    [Setup]
    ProductKey="QGHXW-WY4B8-4XCG3-49476-B4D9H"

(My serial # might work for you too.)
