Match grade is supposed to mean more accuracy. That may mean (but doesn't
necessarily have to) a heavier barrel, tighter tolerances, a better
trigger (lighter, smoother, and/or crisper) etc. Or it may just mean
they've tested several and picked out the best.
A match rifle is often less tolerant of abuse, dirt, and so forth. So you
won't see it in common military usage by "grunts" - in that environment
it would take too much maintenance.
It may be that what they're calling a match grade is one that was
actually designed for the military sniper role. Or for their rifle teams
for competition - almost the same story. Or it may simply be that someone
afterwards took a rifle they liked and upgraded the trigger, bolt and/or
barrel. In either case, they are claiming that it will be more accurate
than you "run of the mill" FAL.
That must be some scope you're looking at. Decent scopes can be had for
less, unless you're talking night vision. Yes, it may be worth the price
- if you can really use it of course. I'm not that good yet.
