KG> SA> will not change its way 100%. The PC Police seem to believe
KG> SA> that if these changes take place, the world will be a more
KG> SA> peaceful place.
KG> Organized groups of humans represent political and economic clout.
KG> Corporations survive and grow on the flow of money. Add it up.
KG> Since Disney has long been equated with "wholesome entertainment"
KG> and, in fact, has become the giant it is because of its wholesome
mage,
KG> corporate decisions and economics at Disney are intimately linked to
KG> consumer perception and awareness of the moral values represented by
KG> the products and services it offers... moreso than most other
mpanies.
KG> Who knows what kind of social impact the exposure to certain forms of
KG> _programming_ has over the long run? Do you? The real question
remains:
KG> How do we bring about a better, more peaceful world?
You can't. It's an impossibility because peace is harder to keep
than it is win. Just because you go to Disney today doesn't mean
the world is a happier place tomorrow.
One cannot change a whole lifetime around because someone says we
have to. That is our decision to make if we want to do it and
not before. I'm going to end this thread because the politics
surrounding the whole issue is getting too tense for me.
I realize in big business the little guy hardly matters and if
Disney is so self assured that this option is the best way to
combat a huge problem then that's fine. But realistically it
is only a short term solution.
I will still go to the parks because I still like them but no
longer can I view this side of the business for "the good of
everyone." It's another gray area I have to live with.
