Ok then...let's rephrase it...
 
For the free world, the Beatles INTRODUCED progressive rock and made it safe
for countless other bands to come out from under the "rock" and go public!
 
Naturally, the Beatle's didn't come up with all the concepts themselves...
They've always been a product of what was going on around them...as all
a bands are.
 
You left John Cale off your list.  I think he was one of Brian Eno's
inspirations if I'm not mistaken.
