I remember when I was a sig section leader on Compuserve (many
moons ago) and someone discovered that you could 'push' a modem
to higher transfer rates simply by feeding the data to it
faster. Seemed almost stupidly obvious but until then no one
had tried it before? So CIS verified that many users could push
a 300 baud modem to 450 baud but the 'trick' was the receiving
modem had to be setup to receive at 450 baud as well. CIS did
setup a few dialin numbers at 450 baud as a 'test' then began
to charge more for the 450 access! People dropped it's use and
it faded back into obscurity. Greed has killed off many a good
thing.

My guess is if it became a common practice the gov would tax it
or make it illegal (like everything else).

The Pringles yagi compares favorably to $150 US yagi which
saves some of the cost but you still need the WiFi
send/receivers etc. and that is something I do not have at
present.

It reminded me of old Popular Electronics line-of-sight laser
transmit receive construction projects. I never had a use for
one but the concept was fascinating. ;-)
