Well, yes, good point. But the bug I pointed out affected ALL programs
running on a Novell server which use buffered directory searches as it
causes files to be missed in the search. That's not only a trap for
programmers using the Novell API, but for anyone who wants their OS/2
software to reliably work on a Netware volume.
BTW, since you're in their developer's program (I've had past experience so
you don't need to tell me about it :-(), would you mind forwarding that
program onto Novell? I'd find it hard to believe that they wouldn't treat
this problem with at least SOME urgency. The possibility is there that many
of their clients aren't backing up all their files, and that's quite likely
to have some effect on their legal department, even if tech support don't
particularly care. They're publishing a seriously defective product, even
if they are giving it away rather than selling it.
If you need another copy, let me know and I'll send it - or, if you know an
email address at Novell that's even better - I'll pound them with this and
a few less critical problems.
