| subject: | Allocated memory - how do I query? |
* CP: All - OS2-CSET 81:431/19.1929
Hello All!
I am looking for a function that tells me how much memory my application
has allocated at the moment, since the following thing does not work:
var P: pointer;
begin
writeln( memavail); { write the number of remaining free bytes }
getmem( p, 4); { allocate 4 bytes }
writeln( memavail); { write the number of remaining free bytes after alloc}
freemem( p, 4); { release the 4 bytes again }
writeln( memavail); { again remaining }
end.
this program outputs:
774430
774500
774430
of this I will have to conclude the program takes less memory when I have
just _allocated_ some!
So, where can I get the number of bytes OS/2 knows I have allocated in the system?
HELP!
