Hello All,
I am wondering what feedback some of you would have regarding C++ Builder?
Does anyone have the new $99 version? After programming in several languages
over the years (basic, assmebler, C, pascal, VB, Delphi) I have really become
fond of Delphi! But, my boss has decided that I need to move on to C++ at
work because of the people at work that set the company standards for
programming tools. These people likely walk around in a daze with hands
extended in front them chanting..."Yes Bill Gates...Yes, oh master...". The
company standards are VB, Visual C++ and a few others I wont mention.
While I will continue to use Delphi for my personal development at home and
side projects, I must start using MS Visual Basic and C++. What I am
wondering, is how compatible would the code from C++ builder be with Visual
C++. It would be a much easier transition from Delphi to C++ builder than to
Visual C++. If I could create the code on C++ builder and then sneak it over
to Visual C++, I would be much happier.
Any feedback you have on C++ Builder and the transisition from Delphi would
be appreciated. Or, should I just use Visual C++ for work. My other
alternative would be to use Visual Basic again and write DLLs in C/C++ (or
Delphi and don't tell my boss...hehehe) to handle routines that need speed or
power that VB doesn't offer.
At least I get to finish my current project already started in Delphi :)
