I'm a native Floridian, been there, done that.  When diving Blue Grotto
and Devil's Den, we normaly stay in Crystal River.  We only go when our
Ohio friends come down to dive the manatees and we go up from Ft.
Lauderdale to meet them.  We drive.
-> I used to fly my own plane into Lake City the night before a dive
-> (only a moron waits til the morning because of early morning fog).
-> Believe it or not, there usually wasn't any taxi service on Friday
-> nights.
Does not surprise me.  I lived in Jacksonville for 7 years and know Lake
City well enough to know it is a small town in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks for the info.  Are Ginnie and 40 Fathom worth the trip?
Remember, we're warm water divers and have the Keys within a two hour
ride.
