One problem is it would require 1.5+ gig of temp storage to
download pieces of a 700+ meg file then create a second one by
combinging the pieces. Would be nice if there was a download
(modified FTP?) that could combine the pieces as they are being
transferred. :-)

I'm of the opinion that the get-rich-quick greed factor will be
with us for my entire lifetime and no one will back off on
pricing ever until someone threatens them with great bodily
harm (Bin Laden?). 

There are stories of a few people setting up WiFi for their
entire neighborhood etc. Maybe when there are enough of those
the businesses will lower connect charges but I won't hold my
breath.
